Flanders Folk Network

Flanders is brimming with musical talent, especially in folk and traditional music. In recent years the number of Flemish artists who perform internationally has grown steadily.

At the same time the Flemish venues and cultural organisations who specialise in folk and traditional music have increased their professionalism - serving their existing audience and developing new audiences, in Flanders and from outside their borders.

These organisations have now come together as the Flanders Folk Network (FFN) to further strengthen the promotion and advocacy of the genre and scene in Flanders and abroad – for example, through the Flanders Folk Awards and other collective initiatives.

Our mission

FFN unites artists, labels, venues and organizations who play and promote folk and traditional music in Flanders.

FFN will support artists and increase the professionalism of the cultural organizations involved with the aim of developing new audiences and increasing the visibility of Flemish folk and traditional music locally, nationally, internationally and globally.

Partners

The network was recently founded and is currently supported by a few organizations in the folk scene. The intention is to grow the network in a short period of time and to bring together all actors within the Flemish folk scene and to be a powerful voice in both the Flemish and the international music landscape.

Currently the organization consists of representatives of:
